The Massachusetts Correctional Institution, Framingham, houses females sentenced to imprisonment, awaiting trial, or committed by the courts for alcohol or substance abuse treatment (MGLA c 125, s 16; c 123, s 35). Under the supervision of the deputy superintendent for operations, the disciplinary officer is responsible for processing disciplinary reports and for dispensing disciplinary sanctions. The disciplinary officer creates and maintains a discipinary log to provide a ready source of information about inmate infractions against prison rules.
